Facilitate effective professional learning to meet the needs of adult learners for Summer Institutes and Path to Schoolwide training using AVID Center’s Professional Learning Practices. Collaborate with other staff developers to develop a facilitation plan prior to events. Maintain professional fidelity via year-round professional learning.

 

 

AVID COORDINATOR & ELECTIVE TEACHER, MANSFIELD ISD

Develop and facilitate professional learning on campus and in the district as needed. Identify and Recruit new AVID students. Collect, document, and report AVID data. Serve as liaison and instructional coach for staff on AVID methodologies. Plan various campus events. Establish relationships between the campus, colleges, and community.
Earned Teacher of the Year in 2016. Gained AVID National Demonstration status in 2014 and 2017. Reached AVID Schoolwide Site of Distinction in 2017 and 2018

Differentiated and adapted curriculum for students. Applied intervention methods for students considered “at risk”. Collaborated with my department to establish pre STAAR boot camps to help increase testing scores. Coordinated Saturday Camps to increase content knowledge and retention of information through various hands-on, interactive stations.
