Bringing back an old fave

Today, I decided to change my professional learning networks list from the Wix slideshow widget that I created in course 5302 to a Smore Newsletter. I've used Smore for many years as a semester exam project in my class, but it's been years since I've created one myself. Whenever I introduce the project to my students, I just show them an example newsletter I created back in 2015. It seemed like a good time to refresh my Smore making skills! Here's my new Smore.

Smore is so easy to use. It makes your work look professional whether you are a novice or tech expert. It's a great digital tool for educational, personal, or business use. There are 6 templates to choose from or you can start from a blank page. Once you get started, there are 5 designs to choose from, each offering 6 fonts to explore. You can add lots of details to enhance the newsletter to make your topic more appealing to your audience.

Options you can add on to a Smore

Some of the features include images, videos, embedded content and bio forms. A newsletter can be as long and detailed or as short and simple as you want. It all depends on the purpose of your advertisement. I've seen a principal use a Smore for a weekly campus newsletter to keep parents in the know, so to speak. Others have used it for projects instead of the traditional poster board and markers. I've also seen it used to advertise company events and shared via social media.

Using Smore again reminded me how versatile this tool can be. I think I'll start using it more often with my students and for my own personal promotions of information.
