This past week, I made a grand plan to work on my eportfolio while I had some free time. Instead of getting ahead, I got way off schedule because of "technical errors." My laptop has been crashing and shutting down unexpectedly. A few times, I lost the work I was currently working on or had just completed. I had to restart some assignments and search to recover others. As we all know, technology can be frustrating at times. I ended up taking the laptop in to a repair shop for a checkup. Two days out of repair, the laptop started crashing again. UGH! Frustrated with my lack of progress on my grand plan, I went back to the repair shop. Through the waiting period of my laptop being out of commission, I was at least able to keep up with the required readings for the course on my mobile device. That's a positive, right? This situation started to resurface my fixed mindset voice. I began thinking that I was going to fail the class or get so far behind that I'd be in frantic stress mode at the end of the course. Once I recognized the negative thinking, I allowed my growth mindset to take back control! I had to go back to the drawing board and make a new plan. I chose to be optimistic and press forward. It's not the first time that technology has failed me and it sure won't be the last.
